About FlockStack

FlockStack is a newsletter platform: you write an issue, send it to your list and publish it on the web, from the dashboard or from an AI agent. It is open source under the AGPL-3.0, and FlockStack Cloud, the hosted version, is run by KMF Ventures LLC. Paid plans are priced by the emails you send, and FlockStack takes no cut of what your readers pay you.

What FlockStack is

FlockStack is a newsletter platform. You write an issue, send it to your list and publish it on a website of its own, from the dashboard or from an AI agent. Everything the dashboard does is also in a REST API with 234 endpoints and in an MCP server that ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and Codex can use, with the same checks and limits. A newsletter has a Free plan, signup forms, paid subscriptions, automations, polls and a custom domain. The home page has the short version, and the documentation has the rest.

Open source

FlockStack is open source under the AGPL-3.0. The code is at github.com/ankurmans/flockstack, and the same code runs FlockStack Cloud, the hosted version. You can run it on your own server and keep publishing if you ever leave the hosted service. A self-hosted FlockStack has no plans and no limits from FlockStack; you pay for your own server and email sending. Self-hosted newsletter software covers what that takes, and how to send a newsletter with Amazon SES covers sending.

Who runs FlockStack Cloud

FlockStack Cloud is run by KMF Ventures LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, per the terms of service and the privacy policy. The contact for questions, requests and complaints is hello@flockstack.io. These pages are written under the name FlockStack, not under a person's: who writes these pages explains how.

How FlockStack makes money

From the plans on FlockStack Cloud. The paid plans are priced by the emails you send in a month, with a cap on active subscribers, and yearly billing costs 10 months' price instead of 12. FlockStack sets no application fee on what your readers pay you, so it takes 0% of sales, and Stripe's processing fees still apply. A dedicated IP is sold at cost. How FlockStack is priced sets out each of these.

Where your data is kept

An account lives in one of two regions, the United States or the European Union, and nothing looks across them. The EU region has its own database and buckets. FlockStack says "data stored in the EU" and does not go further than that, because it has not yet verified the region of every subprocessor it uses. The sub-processors page lists them, and the regions documentation says what each region holds.

Where FlockStack is the weaker pick

FlockStack has no mobile app, no SMS, and no enterprise security reports or single sign-on, and its recommendations directory is small. Who FlockStack is for says plainly where it fits, and the comparison pages set it beside other platforms, with every fact sourced and dated.

How to reach us

Email hello@flockstack.io. FlockStack is not affiliated with any of the platforms it is compared with.
