Changelog

What's new

What changed in FlockStack Cloud, newest first.
  1. Sign in with Apple

    • Continue with Apple now sits under Continue with Google on the sign-in page.
    • Email codes and passkeys work as before.

  2. New colors and logo

    • FlockStack's own pages and the dashboard use ink and electric lime.
    • The logo is three stacked bars, the top one lime, and every app icon follows it.
    • Your newsletter's website keeps its neutral look.
  3. Terms, privacy policy and sub-processors

    • The terms of service, the privacy policy and the list of sub-processors are published, in plain words.
    • They include our price promise: at least 90 days' notice by email before a price goes up for your plan.

    Read the terms

  4. A help chat that answers from the docs

    • A Help button on FlockStack's pages answers questions from the docs, with links to the pages it used.
    • The conversation stays in your browser tab. Email a human sends it to support, and only when you click it.
  5. Custom domains on Cloudflare: the groundwork

    • Code for serving your website from your own domain through Cloudflare for SaaS, with its own certificate, in your account's region.
    • It is tested against a stand-in for Cloudflare's API, and is checked against the real one before it is switched on.
  6. Comments

    • Subscribers can comment on your web issues. They sign in by email, with no password.
    • You choose who can comment and what waits for your review. A hidden or removed comment always shows its author the reason.

    How comments work

  7. Recommendations between newsletters

    • Recommend up to 10 newsletters, each with a pitch in your own words.
    • After signing up, readers tick the ones they want; nothing is shared otherwise. Free, with no paid placement.

    How recommendations work

  8. A European Union region

    • Choose where your data is stored when you sign up: the United States or the European Union.
    • Each region has its own database and storage. The EU region is at eu.flockstack.io.

    What is stored where

  9. Tags, segments and automations

    • Tags and custom fields on contacts, and merge tags such as {{first_name}} in your emails.
    • Segments: saved rules over your contacts that a campaign can go to.
    • Automations: a series of emails and tag changes that starts on its own, when someone joins or gets a tag.

    Tags, segments and automations

  10. Selling, with a 0% fee

    • Sell digital products and paid subscriptions, paid to your own Stripe account.
    • FlockStack takes 0% of what you sell. Stripe's own fees apply.

    How selling works

  11. RSS, a full export and referrals

    • Every newsletter with a website has an RSS feed with the full text of its issues.
    • Export everything in one click: contacts, issues, images and settings. It is never a paid feature.
    • A referral program: each subscriber gets a link, and rewards unlock as the people they bring confirm.
